Part I — Repair Policy
This Repair Policy applies to all customers who use Phone Repair Ambulance's repair services or purchase merchandise from us. By dropping off a device or completing a purchase, you agree to the terms below.
1. General Terms
- Applicability. Any customer who uses our services or purchases merchandise from us is automatically subject to all Phone Repair Ambulance policies. Customers are responsible for reading this policy before using our services. It is posted at the front desk and on our website, and a link may be emailed after a repair ticket is created. Employees are not required to read the policy aloud or to point out specific provisions.
- Quotes. Quotes given online or over the phone are rough estimates only; our technicians determine the accurate repair cost once the device has been diagnosed.
- Accessories left with a device. Customers must not leave additional accessories or parts with a device being repaired (cases, chargers, SIM cards, memory cards, etc.). We are not responsible for any items left behind.
- Store merchandise. Employees are not permitted to remove any device or merchandise listed for sale from the showcase/display without it being paid for first.
- Release of repaired devices. Employees are not permitted to return a customer's device before it has been paid for. A customer may ask an employee to inspect/demonstrate the repair in their presence prior to payment.
- Card payments. To prevent fraud and protect both parties, all card payments (credit or debit), regardless of amount, require a government-issued ID matching the name on the card. A photo is taken with the card machine for verification.
- Uncollected devices. Customers have up to 30 days from drop-off to collect their device(s). If a device is not collected within that period, Phone Repair Ambulance will recycle it whether or not it has been paid for, with no exceptions.
2. Diagnostics
- Diagnostics may take a few business days (not including weekends), depending on the complexity of the issue.
- Diagnostic fee. Repairs may be subject to a nonrefundable diagnostic fee of $25–$49. If the customer proceeds with the repair, this fee is applied toward the final repair cost, and the customer pays the difference.
- Diagnostic fees paid may be applied as a down payment toward the purchase of one of our devices listed for sale.
- If a device is found not to be repairable, the minimum diagnostic fee applies. If it is repairable but the customer declines to proceed after diagnosis, the maximum diagnostic and labor fee of $49 applies.
- Minimum diagnostic fee by device type: Phones $25 · Tablets $35 · Computers & Game Consoles $40 · All other devices $25.
- All repairs, regardless of complexity, carry a risk of data loss. Customers are responsible for backing up their data beforehand; Phone Repair Ambulance is not responsible for data loss.
- By dropping off a device for repair or diagnosis, the customer consents to Phone Repair Ambulance attempting the necessary diagnostic or repair steps.
- A repair may require additional work beyond the original request, which can result in additional charges. We will try to honor the original quote and inform the customer of changes, but by dropping off a device the customer agrees to pay all charges necessary to complete a successful repair. (On rare occasions, a technician may resolve the issue during diagnostics itself.)
- Repairs pending customer approval are held for 2 business days. If no response is received in that time, the repair is canceled and the maximum diagnostic and labor fee applies.
3. Repair Turnaround Times
- Motherboard work, computer repairs, and game console repairs: an estimated 5–15 business days (not including weekends or time spent waiting on an ordered part).
- Glass-only repairs: an estimated 1–3 business days (not including weekends).
- Network or software unlocking: an estimated 1–15 business days (not including weekends).
4. Warranty
- Most repairs carry a 30-day warranty covering only the replaced/fixed part(s). Wear and tear, physical damage, or liquid damage voids the warranty. Physical damage to an LCD/OLED screen is not always visible to the naked eye — a damaged screen voids the warranty even if the top glass layer is uncracked. Lines of any color, bleeding, or complete blackout on an LCD/OLED screen constitute physical damage.
- We are responsible only for the specific repair performed; the warranty does not extend to the whole device or to unrelated parts.
- Devices repaired for liquid damage carry no warranty of any kind.
- A device carries no warranty of any kind if it has a broken, cracked, or missing back panel at the time of drop-off.
- Devices purchased from us carry a 30-day warranty. Wear and tear, physical damage, or liquid damage voids the warranty.
- Devices that have previously been opened or repaired by another provider may be excluded from warranty coverage unless we expressly state otherwise in writing at the time of service.
5. Refunds, Exchanges & Store Credit
- All sales are final. We do not issue refunds for repairs performed, accessories purchased, or devices purchased from us.
- Exchanges. An exchange may be requested within 30 days of the original purchase or repair, provided the item is returned in the exact condition in which it was purchased — unused, undamaged, and with all original packaging and accessories.
- Store credit. Store credit may be issued only if all of the following conditions are met: (1) the request is made within 30 days of the original purchase date; (2) the original receipt is presented; (3) the item is returned in the exact condition in which it was purchased, including all original packaging; and (4) the return is reviewed and approved by a manager. Store credit is issued at Phone Repair Ambulance's sole discretion.
6. Additional Service Conditions
- Lost & stolen device check. Before servicing certain devices, we may check the device's IMEI/serial number against lost and stolen device databases. If a device is identified as lost, stolen, blacklisted, or otherwise flagged, we reserve the right to refuse service and may be required to report the device to the appropriate authorities.
- Activation lock. Prior to repair or purchase, we may require that a device's activation lock (Apple iCloud/Find My, Google Factory Reset Protection, or equivalent) be removed. We reserve the right to decline service or a purchase transaction on a device with an active lock that cannot be verified as authorized for service.
- Existing warranty or insurance. Before beginning a repair, we will ask whether your device is currently covered by a manufacturer's warranty or an insurance policy, since a third-party repair may affect that coverage. It is the customer's responsibility to determine whether using our services impacts any existing warranty or insurance coverage.
- Pre-existing damage. We are not responsible for pre-existing damage, internal or external, present on a device at the time of drop-off, including damage from prior handling, prior repairs, or undisclosed prior liquid exposure.
- Liquid-damaged devices. If we agree to attempt a repair on a liquid-damaged device, we will notify you before beginning the repair that our standard warranty may not apply, and that liquid damage may also not be covered under a manufacturer's warranty.
- Diagnostic & repair software. Where a repair requires installing diagnostic or other software to complete the service, we will obtain your approval before doing so. Only authorized software is used during the repair process.
- Device custody. Repairs are performed on-site whenever possible, in view of the customer upon request. If it becomes necessary for a device to leave our premises (for example, sent to a partner lab for specialized work), we will obtain your written authorization before doing so.
- Device abandonment. Before a device is treated as abandoned under this policy, we will make a reasonable number of attempts to contact you using the contact information you provided, consistent with applicable law.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Phone Repair Ambulance's total liability for any claim arising from a repair, diagnostic, or purchase is limited to the amount paid for that specific service or device. We are not liable for incidental, consequential, special, or indirect damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of use, or lost profits, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. This limitation is in addition to, and does not affect, any rights you may have that cannot be waived under applicable law.
Part II — Device Intake & Release Conditions
8. Conditions at Drop-Off
By signing a work order or dropping off a device, the customer acknowledges and agrees to the following:
- It is recommended that you back up your device before any repair. We cannot be held liable for data loss that may occur during a repair.
- If a requested repair requires labor and/or parts beyond what was originally specified, we will seek your approval for a revised estimate.
- All jobs must be collected within 30 days of completion unless prior arrangements have been made. Jobs not collected within this period may be treated as uncollected goods and/or subject to a storage fee, and may be sold or disposed of once the required time has elapsed.
- Liquid damage can cause future problems due to corrosion. You agree that neither the company nor its staff is liable if your device stops working after a data recovery service.
- A dropped phone can develop microscopic fractures in the board that may only cause problems after the board is removed or a repair is completed, which may result in additional issues arising.
- If your device is brought in non-working and we are unable to test all functions before repair, we are not liable for other functions found not working afterward. We will notify you and obtain your approval before repairing any additional issue found, at additional cost.
- All repair timeframes are estimates only; we cannot guarantee a specific completion time. When parts must be ordered, delivery time is outside our control and cannot be guaranteed.
- Using our service may void your manufacturer's warranty; neither the company nor its staff is liable for any warranty voided as a result.
- By signing the work order, you confirm that you own the device or have the owner's permission to have it repaired.
9. Conditions at Pickup
By signing for pickup, the customer acknowledges and agrees to the following:
- You have tested the device and confirmed all functions work as designed. Any issue with the device other than the one repaired — if not identified at the time of pickup — may be repaired at additional cost to the customer.
- Issues with the repaired part(s) are covered only under our 30-day warranty. No warranty is provided for liquid-damaged devices.
- Most glass/screens are held in place with double-sided adhesive. If the glass or screen lifts or detaches in any way, please return the device to us immediately. Warranty does not cover a screen that is broken in any way, even if the break occurred after the screen began lifting. If the device's frame is warped, bent, or twisted, we will do our best to reshape it so the glass/screen sits flush; if it cannot sit 100% flush because the frame remains bent or twisted, this is not a warranty issue — replacing the frame is the only way to fully correct it.
Part III — Trade-In & Additional Terms
10. Trade-In Terms
By trading in a device, you confirm that you are the owner of the device, that it is not currently under contract with any service provider, and that you have removed it from your iCloud (or equivalent) account. Once a device is traded in, it becomes the property of Phone Repair Ambulance and the trade-in cannot be cancelled.
11. Additional Signature Terms
The following terms apply specifically to service authorized under a signed work order:
- By sending your device in for service, you confirm you are the legal owner, or have the legal owner's permission to authorize service. This is in addition to, and does not affect, your statutory rights.
- If hidden problems are discovered during the repair, we will contact you using the details you provided to discuss the revised repair price before continuing work.
- We are not liable for data loss or component failure that may occur, including once pressure is released on the device during an attempted repair, or at any other time.
- We recommend all customers back up important data before handing in a device for repair.
- You will be contacted upon completion of the repair. You have 30 days from the completion date to collect the device and settle any outstanding payment. Devices not collected within this period may be treated as abandoned and disposed of or recycled as permitted by applicable law.
- We expressly warrant repairs performed by us for 30 days. If the same fault we repaired reoccurs, we will re-perform the repair at no charge. This warranty does not apply to water-damaged devices or physical damage (including deep scratches or a bent/twisted handset).
